**What it does**
This showcase version of **Avacyn, Angel of Hope** is the same game piece: an 8/8 flying, vigilance, **indestructible** threat that gives **all your permanents indestructible** while she’s on the battlefield. The difference is the frame treatment—great for decks that care about style as much as power.
**How it plays**
Avacyn is the ultimate “my board stays” card. She lets you cast or topdeck sweepers without fear, pressure planeswalkers, and attack while keeping blockers (vigilance). Because she’s eight mana, smart decks ramp into her with rocks (Thran Dynamo, Gilded Lotus), land ramp (Keeper of the Accord, Smothering Tithe → Treasures), or cheat effects (Quicksilver Amulet, Sneak Attack in RW shells). Expect opponents to pivot to exile/sacrifice; plan protection or redundancy accordingly.
**Roles & best use cases**
– **White midrange & Angels**: Top‑end finisher that turns the corner and locks it.
– **Pillow‑fort/control**: Sit behind Ghostly Prison/Authority of the Consuls, then drop Avacyn to end the game.
– **Token strategies**: Make your army immune to sweepers before alpha swings.
**Sequencing tips**
Sandbag Avacyn until you can follow with a board wipe or at least hold up protection. If you suspect Farewell/Terminus, develop threats that tolerate exile first and commit Avacyn after you’ve drawn out answers.
**Formats & popularity**
A beloved **Commander** finisher; legal elsewhere but rarely seen outside EDH. The showcase art pairs nicely in curated cubes and display binders.
**Proxy note**
Third‑party proxy for casual play/testing. Not tournament legal. Unaffiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
